Skater performing the Wallride
Wallride is the act of hitting the wall with the skateboard wheels and thus riding the wall. The wallride time span is usually very short and mostly depends on the initial ollie height. Due to the gravity, wallride is mostly a downward trick towards the ground. It was a popular trick in the 80s.
Video game variant[]
In Tony Hawk's video games Wallrides are executed by pressing the grind button (Tirangle, Y) before hitting the wall at an allowed angle. This action will glue skater to the wall, and give some extra push to raise the skater up the wall. It is also allowed to perfom an ollie off the wall called Wallie or extend that to a Wallieplant. These tricks add extra height boost and allow enough time to perform aerial tricks off the wall.
