Venice is a level found in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and a hidden level in Tony Hawk's Underground. It also appears in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD.

Origin

Venice Beach level is based on the iconic real life place is called The Pit that was located in Venice, California. It was built in 60s and demolished in May 2000, 6 months prior the THPS2 release. A new skatepark was built near that area. It isn't to be mistaken with Venice, Italy.

Trivia

  • In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2X, the graffiti has been updated in some areas. There is now cleverly placed Taco Bell graffiti, as well as the phrase "All Your Base Are Belong To Us," Which refers to the popular meme created through the bad English translation of the 1991 Sega Mega Drive port of Zero Wing.
  • A piece of graffiti depicting Spider-Man is hidden in the level
  • Venice marks the first appearance of the fan-favorite Ollie the Magic Bum.
  • Venice is the only level in THPS2 where an NPC character appears, being, as mentioned before, Ollie the Magic Bum.
  • The real life place, the Pit, was featured in the 1986 skateboarding film, "Thrashin'".
