Tony Hawk's Games Wiki

Tokyo is a Level that first appeared in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. It is the eighth Level of Career Mode in that game and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 in THPS3 Skate Tour. It is the third and final Competition Level of the aforementioned games.

Tokyo is the final competition level of the game. Unlike most other competition levels in the series, this level is based off of a real location, but the level's skating zones are fictional. The only other competition level that shares this trait is Roswell.

The level is known for its crazy loops, blimp laser grid, vert locations, high risk billboard grinds, and its secret area full of halfpipes and long grinds.

There is a hidden area that can be accessed by grinding on one of the large circular neon signs.

Trivia[]

  • If the player grinds two strings holding up a circle shaped sign, the sign will fall and reveal a secret area.
  • The player can reach the big red holographic platform in the middle of the level.
  • It is possible to do land a Car Plant behind the level at the starting point. The player would have to time their ollie off the roof to land on the driving cars. Of course, since the cars don't stop, they can cause the player to bail if he were to land in front of one. And, of course they are at the out-of-bounds area, the player will be taken back to the level.
  • Sometimes cars can be seen going through the level, when they usually are driving around the shrine gates. This may be because if using a freecam, one can see that there is a street which would go through the skatepark, but cars are not allowed to go through it. It could be possible that this is leftover from a earlier version of Tokyo, as it seems strange that cars can even go through the skatepark when they only drive in circles.
  • Many of the gaps in the level are named after Japanese food dishes.
  • If the player goes out of bounds in the secret area, the level uses the generic water bail messages. (WATER...BAD!)
  • In the 6th-gen versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, if the player plays this level on the Free Skate mode, the crowd is still heard, despite not being present. This could be an developer oversight.
