Skitchin.

Skitching, abbreviated from skate-hitching, is when the player skitches car's rear and rides with it. The first game in this series to feature skitching is THPS4.

Skitching as a game mechanic is rarely used in a combo and mostly required in several games to pass certain goals that require skater to gain high speed. For example longest jump competition in Alcatraz or drug dealers escape goal in THUG, which requires to clear the bridge using skitching.

Trivia

• Not only skater can skitch vehicles, it's also possible to skitch animals including elephants and dogs.
• Although skitching was fully added in most versions of THPS4, it first appeared in the GBA version of THPS3.
