Rasta Guy
Rastapopolous is a skate shop employee who appears in early THPS games. He is also known as Rastaman, Rasta Guy or Jamaican Guy.
Appearence[]
"We called him Rastaman in the old days, but he was given the official name Rastapopolous later on."[1]
THPS1[]
Rasta Guy skater model can be found in multiple betas of THPS1, but he wasn't included in the final release.
THPS2[]
In THPS2 he appears on the skateboard selection screen as a static image.
THPS3[]
In THPS3 he appears at the main menu; he is seen behind the counter of the SkateShop. When the player highlights secret skaters on the selection menu, he reacts in varying ways:
- If the player highlights Darth Maul, Rasta Guy will be Force choked.
- If the player highlights Wolverine, Rasta Guy will put up his fists, as if he were about to fight.
- If the player highlights Officer Dick, Rasta Guy will cover his face in imminent disgust.
- If the player highlights Private Carrera, Rasta Guy will start dancing and hitting on her.
- If the player highlights Ollie the Magic Bum, Rasta Guy will faint, then retch at Ollie's stench after standing up again.
- If the player highlights Demoness, Rasta Guy will be consumed by flames and scream in agony as he is presumably dragged down to hell.
Highlighting Kelly Slater, the Neversoft Eyeball, X-Ray or Doom Guy, however, will cause no special reaction from Rasta Guy.
THUG[]
Rasta Guy appears as a pre-made character in Create-A-Skater.
THPS1+2[]
Rastapopolous makes a cameo appearance if no deck graphic is selected at the custom skater screen. The image used seems to be ether referencing or inspired off of his THPS2 debut.
