Chicago is a game level featured in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. The level originally appeared in Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2. It is one of two levels in the game that has to be purchased to unlock, along with Carnival.

Origin[]

The level draws inspiration from downtown Chicago, namely the area known as The Loop. The level includes spots such as the Chicago River, the Art Institute of Chicago, Monroe Street Bridge, and Buckingham Fountain, suggesting that the level takes place in and around Grant Park.

Trivia[]

  • This level and Carnival have the fewest number of goals in the game, as both levels only contain 14 goals. Every other level contains 21 goals (16 regular goals, 5 Pro goals).
  • In Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2, there is a goal that involves dumping bucket of green paint into the river. This is a reference to the annual St. Patrick's Day celebration of dying the Chicago River green. This is possibly why the river in the THPS4 version of the level appears green.
  • In MHPB2, both drawbridges are down, allowing two points of entry to the other portion of the level, whereas in THPS4, the bridge near the art sculpture is permanently raised.
  • The ship from Alcatraz appears in the THPS4 version of the map; a goal requires the player to land a 900 on the top of the ship.
  • In the THPS4 career mode, Mat Hoffman mentions during the high score goal that he and bunch of pros are stopping in Chicago for a tour. This is a reference to the Pro Tour mode of MHPB2.
