Tony Hawk's Games Wiki

“Don't call him Doomguy. He's a badass demon-hunting space marine who loves to rip & tear, which makes him no stranger to shredding. Be very afraid, Cacodemons.”
—Doom Slayer's Biography, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4

Doom Guy (also called the Doom Slayer) is the main protagonist of the Doom franchise.

He first appeared as a PC exclusive unlockable character in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. He is unlocked by entering "idkfa" in the cheat menu (which also unlocks the Gearbox Tribute video).

He returned in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 as an unlockable skater as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game as the Doom Slayer.

Origin[]

Doom Guy (also known as the Doom Slayer) serves as the main protagonist in the Doom video game series. It is likely that he was included as Activision held the publishing rights to id Software's games at the time. Ironically enough, Microsoft would later go on to acquire both ZeniMax Media (who in turn owns id as a subsidiary) and Activision Blizzard. This later paved the way for the Doom Guy, now referred to as the "Doom Slayer" (the evolution his character underwent in Doom from 2016), to appear in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.

Trivia[]

  • The cheat used to unlock him also serves as a cheat in Doom; it unlocks all weapons, ammunition, and keys.
  • Doom Guy's character model is the same model used in id Software's Quake III Arena.
  • Highlighting Doom Guy will not trigger a reaction from Rasta Guy.
  • Doom Guy's hometown is Mesquite, Texas; this is where Doom developer id Software was headquartered.
  • Doom Guy's model shows a few oddities; the wheels of his skateboard are untextured, and his pants are not bilinear filtered.
  • In Doom Eternal, a skateboard can be found in Doom Guy's ship, as a possible nod to his appearance in THPS3.
  • Unlike the other secret skaters in THPS3, Doom Guy has no unique special moves.
